Be aware of spoilers up to episode 6. DaeYoung is in a love triangle with Seol (Park EHyun) and JuHo (Yoon JunWon). The university student fell in love with Seol at first sight and believes destiny makes them meet. They have met a few times, but DaeYoung knows that she is the one for him. In the previous seasons, Seol had a long one-sided love for JuHo and they ended up somehow dating but he left for the states. In this season, he is back in Korea and ready to date Seol, but he is now in a competition with DaeYoung who just appeared next to her. Here are 6 reasons why we are rooting for DaeYoung and fell for him already.
1. He is straightforward when it comes to love
After bumping into Seol on the campus, he followed her all the way to her classroom to talk to her. But the professor was already starting the class when he finally reached it. Instead of going out, he decided to be the model for the class because the professor thought he was the student he was waiting for. Throughout the class, DaeYoung continuously looked at her. At the end of the class, he finally asked for her number: “Do you have a boyfriend? I’m not sure how you will respond. But I think we’re destined for each other. … But you’re so my type. Can you give me your phone number?” He did not hesitate to be the model for the class when 90% of us would have just given up and left the classroom. He also did not wait to confess his interest in her and nothing stopped him from “his destiny”.
2. He is innocent in front of love & believes in destiny
DaeYoung is another character of “Best Mistake” who believes in destiny just like JiSung (Choe ChanYi). In episode 3, he said to his friend: “What do you mean, a blind date? I don’t do those things. Because blind dates are not destiny”. His character is genuine about “destiny” and it makes him innocent. From the first moment he saw Seol, he knew they were destined.
3. He is a funny
His character is also bright and funny. He made viewers laugh when he flexed his muscles to show his charms during the art class.
4. He is sweet and caring
DaeYoung is a sweet and caring guy, and he would do a great boyfriend. In episode 6, he prepared well-thought-out gifts for Seol to thank her for saving him. He took pictures of the sky for her drawings (how nice!) and bought her a lipstick set from the same brand she was using. He knew that she lost her lipstick while saving him, and he brought her the exact same one but in different colors because he did not know which one she would like. DaeYoung did not just prepare any presents.
5. He helps his friend with his crush
DaeYoung helped YeSeok (DAY6’s WonPil) so many times already with his crush YeonDoo (Lee EunJae). He gave him his team project with her, he managed to send him to her house to help the TA, and he even falsified the photography club’s ladder game so he could team with her. DaeYoung is eagerly helping his best friend, and that makes him likable.
6. Cute and handsome with his university student fashion
We can’t skip this point because DaeYoung is cute, and his smiles make him even more attractive.
HyunSuk looks particularly handsome with this campus fashion.
